At the 5 minute mark or so, the sample in the background just dissapears, leaving you (or at least me), wondering. At about 5'30" the vocal sample comes out in full force, now recognizable
"come on baby, come on darling... let me steal this moment from you now..."
Good description.
Takes me back to when I first heard it, when Dave Seaman dropped it in the middle of one of the best sets I've ever witnessed. The vocals really do just come out of nowhere, and on a massive system it makes a damn big impact. Took me about two months to find the name, but it was worth every second - the tune of 2003.

anyway its progressive house and its fucking good
I'll write my review later
I realize it's not "by the numbers trance" but its' tension-release format is far more "trancier" than most "trance" tracks today IMO. Isn't that the purpose, or the mechanism of the buildup's and breakdowns in trance?? In that regard I mean it is trancy... Obviously a bit too slow and in the wrong "format" to be an actual trance-by-the-numbers track. Couldn't have told you it was progressive house though...

Infusion vs. Kate Bush - Running up that hill
I hated this song back in 85'...so much so that I almost didn't give this one a chance when I saw it pop up on the new release boards. But this Infusion remix gets my vote for PROGRESSIVE HOUSE tune of the year! To think the Aussie boys were just dicking around in the studio with this one and had no real plans to finish it...
Sorry ..don't have a TRANCE pick for you.
Other fave track of my Year goes to:
Valentino - Flying (Sultan & Tone Depth Remix)

I can assure you it has nothing to do with genre whoredom whatsoever, I was just stating...

Dirty Bass - Emotional Soundscape
London Underground Producer known as Dirty Bass releases this amazing gem on the Dirty Blue Records (correct?). The track is a 6 and half minute MONSTER that just keeps building with a nice vocal. The vocal does not hurt the track, it adds to it, just like it should be. Good old backing beats and it did not get hammered to death by the lame ass A list dj massive (only Sasha and Marco V played it out). Track did not contain a remix because it did not need one, the artist instead let the track do the talking instead of hyping himself like too many people nowdays. A proper tune and was not played on commercial radio or hammered to death, so it was a great underground (that fact will be debated but only 2 real deejays of note hammered it, so it did not get boring) tune. So it is my tune of 2003

Correct! Some label news.
"Due to legal reasons as of release 2 (due very soon) DirtyBlue Records will now be called DirtyBass Records"
Btw, they use in this track vocals from Björk. Amazing tunage!
DB002 is out now with one techno and one tech house track called Leviathon and Sammael. Worth to check them out!

TA Forum going with a Motorcycle Mix, but I'll take Jan Johnston on a few older tracks, unless Communicate is in the year...

I dont write reviews, but the best track this year, and my all time favorite now (for me) is
Momu - The Dive (Original Mix)
So beautiful. I can listen to it over and over again and never get bored. From the first time i heard it, since january, i said it was the track of the year. Nothing has come close to impressing me as much as this track.
