Woah!
Let me say it again .. woah!
Absolutely and completely owned by last night .. one of the best events I've ever been too. The sound was amazing (although very quiet right at the front in the centre), very crisp clear and punchy. The lighting setup was absolutely phenomenal - note to Future - this is how Two Tribes should be!! Huge racks of cans, strobes, blinders, spots, floods, was amazing! The only downsides was the massive queue to get it (though girls could walk straight in no waiting wtf?), and the heat in the main room, but near the smoke machines there were a couple of massive fans so it's all good
Tiesto absolutely owned it - his set in Canberra was the small club venue Tiesto, this set was in front of 5000 screaming gurners and was BIG FUCKOFF ROOM TIESTO! None of the tech-prog that he started with in Canberra, it was just massive tunes straight out of the box! Lots of new upfront stuff in there, and some classics as well
Also managed to check out some of the other arenas after Tiesto and the fireworks - DJ Dan was playing some funky techno which sounded OK for the 5 minutes I was there, but others said it got pretty monotonous pretty quickly...
The Rogue Traders had the house arena jumping, again quite good but too much batty house for me :/
Jason Bye was also pretty impressive playing the closing set in the main arena, Paul van Dyk - For An Angel was a particular highlight, and William Orbit - Barber's Adagio (Ferry Corsten Remix) just as the sun was rising over the Harbour Bridge Though Gav did a much better job trainspotting than me
Check Cam's post for the newest tracklisting
