Don't attempt to put words in my mouth. What's this "In conclusion" shit? Are you giving an oral testimony on rationalizing?
War itself is barbaric, so I will even say that the marines killing the Iraqi was in and of itself "barbaric". I would also say that from an Iraqi standpoint the statment I made above holds equally true. I didn't try to take sides, I merely tried to put the marine commentary in perspective. There was no rationalization in what I said. |
I'm sorry, but its clear to me, in a way you ARE trying to justify their actions in the statement below, even if its a different perspective. | quote: | Originally posted by Shakka
I'm sure there is an adrenaline rush that goes hand-in-hand with killing an enemy combatant. We have no idea what goes through their heads--they're living in a different world than the rest of us when they're in combat--it's hard to really put yourself in their shoes. |
As I've stated in my previous post. If the story was the other way around, you wouldn't have this so called....DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE.
Also, (in your earlier post) you didnot comment anything regarding the cruelty of soldier's actions. So dont get all pissy when I questioned your perspective. Try to give more of a balanced and thoughtful statement. Otherwise, we wouldn't be having this rant...OK?
