Depends on the tune, the artist. Remixes take less time than orginals. A artist say like, Ron van Bueken (same guy behind "The Mystery") if you notice every single remix he did after his big tune "Timeless" has the same lead synth sound, kick, bassline, everything. His last 2 remixes sound the same . He probably just switch the midi parts, did a few little percusion arrangements hear and there, eq, compression and the rest is pretty much done. He probablt finished those remixes in a day or so. Plug n Play baby! |
Holy shit! I didn't know Ron van Bueken was "The Mystery!"
The Mystery - All I Ever Wanted(Devotion) (Mystery Vocal Remix Part 1) = *classic*
Anyway, I think it's unfair to ask "how long does a track take to make without mastering" because I'm sure anyone here can make a killer melody and a template for a track in an hour or less. But getting everything within the track to fit harmoniously together and sound good can take days, weeks, months even. Personally, without any mastering in the pre-mixdown stage, you have no "track" anyway.
