Sometimes thin is the way to go. A lot of producers over here try to achieve as fat sounds as possible and once they think they have it they call it a pro-sounding song. In my opinion trance is more than beautiful melodies and fat synths. It is more than anything a genre that produces a seductive, repetitive atmosphere where unpredictability reigns and subtle changes send chills down your spine.

I think Traffic has a nice hollow sound to it, and I bet it would feel very refreshening to dance to it in a club. Not as good as Marco V's mix of PvD's "Connected", but that's irrelevant.

lol

Traffic does rock in the club. One of my favs. I think the reason faithfullness and traffic sound so good together is because the druma nd bass are very similar sounding. Also faithfullness has a nice and long kick and bass drum before the vocals come on.

In general a lot of uplifting trande has thin sounding synths. They just sound thicker because so much other stuff is going on in the mix. Hardtrance seems to use thick phat sounding synths more, but a lot of it doesn't have a bunch of lush strings/pads.

I agree with the punctuation-lacking dude; the Max Walder mix pisses on the original and is the one I personally play.

The main synth has a thin hollow type sound. Not Ayion - Thru The Night (Solid Slide Remix)thin or a lot of highpass filter thin.

I wasn't saying it was an uplifting tune. I was just saying that in ulifting tunes (which tiesto normally produces) don't have those phat leads like Sound Of Overdose - City 2 City (Shokk Remix)or Miss Shiva - Dreams 2002 (Cosmic Gate Remix).

I thought traffic was just a remake of an older techno song anyway?
