my comp here at werk rules all of ur computers to the deathz0r.

its a p4 gazillion Mhz with 1Gb RAM and a bitch mama of a graphics card that's got its own hardcore fan, altho not as hardcore as the fan on my processor, which is hardercore than any other ever, and its dual monitor, 22" and 19" and i've had it for 2 months already and there's not one temp file on it anywhere.

and i have a partition on my hard drive just for a photoshop scratch disk. that is 10Gb.

hehe. that'd be the x.386 files that are hidden files. windows uses it as virtual memory, where it can store information out of the memory buffer to perform its everyday calculations. pc's need lots of spare hard drive space to run, and whichever drive your v.memory is set to should have at least 500Mb - 1Gb space free on it at any one time.

well i did a massive cleanup on the drive on the 19th, and everything worked a treat, only this week has it been playing up.

I've been cutting loads of movies on to CD and defragging everytime, but its still slow, i think it may be the hard drive on its way out, i've only had this comp for just over a year

ok i've finally managed to sort of solve the problem, there is some bad sectors on the HD, so i will have to run chkdsk to solve it, but i have to link the hd to my old computer and turn it into a slave...my uncle tells me its on the way to failure, so...i can get my mother to buy a 120gb one
