but seriously i've seen a moron tail slide driving a beamer on my home. Anyone who drives anything that resembles a sports car, u should be able to handle it in any condition.

ok so ur making a right turn and u start drifting what do u do? freak out, turn the other wAy quickly and accelerate even faster so u drift the other way!!!! Specially if u have a RWD ride.

Take the TTC, thats what i do all year long its still a heck lot cheaper.

LOL, and stand outside in -30° weather waiting 40 minutes for a late bus, then stand on a crowded bus with 600 people waiting hopelessly for a seat? Even better in the +30° summer weather where you can bake in the heat and be surrounded by sweaty unbathed bodies when the vehicle finally arrives. And endless fun when you've got 4 or 5 errands to run and heavy stuff to carry around.

No thanks, I'll risk my life and car battery any day over the TTC.

the TTC's great when you just have to take the subway.. taking the bus or trolley bites!

You sound like a 70 year old lady. No wonder soo many Canadians are overweight - everyone is too lazy to do anything beyond getting to a parked car.

BTW: TTC buses and subway are airconditioned.

as for the WRX being the most expensive car in canada to insure. That's so far out to lunch I can't fathom it. What about a new ferarri F50? Hell even a BMW M5 would be way more.

Um... when was the last time you looked at me? Do I look overweight to you? No, I get off my ass and exercise. Standing in the same freezing spot for 40 minutes waiting for a bus is not physical activity.

As for the TTC, I've been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Am I spoiled? Maybe. Lazy? Give me a break. I think you're just bitter.

Subway yes, and I'll agree with Beh that taking the subway is just fine. Better than sitting around in stopped downtown traffic, for sure. 80% of the buses in Toronto, however, are still not air conditioned. Streetcars are iffy... they're nice inside, but at certain times of day, you can wait over an hour for one and it still won't show up.

Down with TTC. Up with risking bodily harm and severe property damage in cars during sub-freezing weather.

Well, taking a TTC involves walking, which is a physical activity ( extremely important physical activity I should add). Besides, I wasn't even talking about you - I was talking about general Canadian population. But you did mention - "hopelessly waiting for a seat". Now don't tell me that not "sounding like a 70 year old lady".

As far as waiting for a bus for an hour: Ever heard of bus schedules? You can look them up online - and most of the time they are pretty accurate.

As far as 80% of buses not being air-conditioned.. I'm not sure about that. When was the last time you took a bus?

what i wanna know is...

why do toronto drivers lose all common sense when one snowflake falls. any other city that gets snow is fine. i mean, do all drivers turn into morons as soon as some snow falls.

ALL you have to do to drive is
1) Make sure you remove all snow from your windshields all around tha car. Not just a little space on the front that you can see out off. And make sure you have proper windshield wipers for the winter and that they work properly and have space to move. Visibility is usually the main cause for accidents.

2) Don't tailgate because in the winter you may not be able to stop on a dime. What is the big deal with staying a few feet back. It really freaks me out when I look back in my car and see another a few inches from me.

3) When driving, START breaking way before you think you would have to if it was summer. And slow down a touch. It really won't ki

4) If you ever get yourself into a skid situation, do not turn your wheel every which way, follow the skid because you will be much worse off if you keep going left and right and all over the place.

Yeah i agree with you, its just the initiative you take to make it happen, just plan it out correctly leave early, and taking the subway is hell lot easier and cheaper, subway runs till union station you can just literally walk there which takes about 7 mins or so.

Aaron face it your a old lady (j/k)

In regards to standing in line for a bus outside, i dont have to

I have the subway just below my apt

and yes the TTC buses and subway is heated and airconditoned according to the weather.

True a car is handy, but comes with a big price tag of - maintainence, gas, insurance ,breakdowns and lots of trance cds.
