No..this is another reason to research a product well, before committing your cash to something.

I take it all back... M-Audio just responded to me.

The extra Audio Controller that kept being detected was my onboard sound...i forgot to disable it from the BIOS!!

Not exactly true, since the Audiophile has it's own volume panel I suppose they did not incorperate the windows volume panel since the audiophile is the only sound card I have ever had installed in this computer.

The only downfall to it not supporting the windows volume panel is that the volume buttons on my keyboard don't work

ok problem solved

i had to change in the patchbay to "monitor mixer" and not "waveout 1/2"

but there's still a problem.. i can always here a deep noise in my genelec 1030. could it be because i have to use the output at minimal level? but with my old soundblaster i hadn't this problem..

Maybe this has something to do with your monitors. Have you grounded the power of your monitors? You should have no noise at all when using the Audiophile...

i found the reason now... it's because the output level is not high/loud enough.. so i configured the SPL at the genelecs tpo -6dB and this occures the noise. if i configure back to 0db i can't hear sound! even if i set all levels to the highest point. can't i use the genelecs without a mixer?
