Er, Mr Mystery, what the hell are you talking about? I'm not exactly a rock fan, but I can safely say you're talking out of your arse.

Why?
Guitars, drums, bass, vocals.
It's pretty much the same to me.

What I mean is that both have some sort of rules to classify them as certain genre which will always remain the same.

Uplifting trance sounds like uplifting trance.
Garage rock sounds like garage rock.

Don't like it - don't listen to it.

I will mention the genre, whiskers had it right, its "uplifting" trance.

arctic I was using capital letters for emphasis, not for any other reason, good bye.

And your an expert in what exactly? I see you're from the US so that means you probably have no idea about good trance. You're stating an opinion and opinions are like assholes...everyone has one.

I believe trance, like most other electronic music genres, is evolving more rapidly than anything else we've ever seen. Producers are having to get more and more creative with their sounds, and consequently, the music is always evolving.

Take trance a few years back. You'd use an 808 or a 909 or something similar, maybe add some slight reverb/compression and eq, and you were done. Now sounds are distorted so much that in some cases you can't tell which drum machine (or which actual drumset) was used for the original sample.

Same thing with synths. It used to be that a decent supersaw was deemed "good enough," but now it's not. Once again, producers are doing crazy things to distinguish themselves.

And so what if you can recognize who made what track just by listening to it? The same is true for other genres of music. Musical biases aside, does the fact that I can identify Linkin Park's lead vocalist or signature sound mean that they're any worse? If you said yes, that's tantamount to saying a certain brand of peanut butter tastes different because they changed the label.
