Some random thoughts from last night:
-Man, I really really really really really really really WANT to like Dean, and I truly want this guy to win.
But what fuckin' crack pipe was he smokin' last night?!?!?
That last shrill sound he made after he said, "Michigan",
"HHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!"
What in God's name was that?
Christ man, get a hold of yourself will you?
I'm really trying hard to give him the benefit of the doubt. But if he continues with angry shrills as if someone came up behind him and gave him a wedgy, I don't think I'll lose too much sleep if he eventually bows out.
(Come to think of it, I think Kerry and Edwards did give him a wedgy. Anyway....)
-I personally like Kerry, and I really like Edwards too. So honestly, no real harm done if they continue to go forward. I concur with DaveSaenz, Edwards would make a great VP. But hey, it's Iowa, and as much as it sets the tone, Iowa has been known to not mean shit in the long run. So I'm waiting until Feb. 1 before I conclude anything.
-Kerry's gonna find out just how shitty it is to be in the front of the pack. No fun with a target on your back.
-As much as I like Gephardt, I agree with Dean's camp that Gephardt did Dean in with so many negative attacks. What's worse, it backfired on Gephardt. Of course Dean had to retaliate and respond, which put him in a bad position with more negativity. I firmly believe anyone who was in Dean's position would have done the same. As I said before, it's much more difficult to lead the pack with a target on your back (Dr. Seuss?). It will benefit Dean more to be in the middle for a change and focus on the issues, with a little more positivity. Dean needs to tone it down ASAP. If he cannot concede to this, he's done.
-43% of the elderly vote went to Kerry. Much of that was attributed to Kerry's experience in Congress as well as being a decorated war veteran. What a concept: actually fighting a war. You mean he actually did more than just put on a military outfit? Wow.
-As much as I like Clark, I will never endorse him. Anyone who thinks it's not necessary to campaign across the country does not speak for everyone within that country. I feel it's quite a negative aspect that he did not show up in Iowa. To me that speaks volumes about his campaign.
-Lieberman: see above on Clark.
-Lieberman getting endorsed by Republican paper: my balls are swollen from my jaw dropping so hard in my lap. Give me a fucking break! Wow, big surprise there. Go Bush-lite.
-Lieberman: weren't you in the first Lord of the Rings movie?
-Bush's SOTU address tonight: should be interesting. I imagine the topics will be the tax cuts and the economy, as well as him wanting to focus on bringing in new jobs. It sure must suck to be the first president since Hoover to have a net job loss. I'm sure he'll also discuss national security - actually it'll be his first and foremost topic. I wonder if he'll shy away from those "WMD" words? For his sake, it would probably be best if he did. I also hope his writers are doing a more stringent job on fact checking too.
-"Is this Heaven?"
"No, it's Iowa!"
-Time for my morning 10 AM appt. with the throne. Cheers.
