If you have an xbox to play mame the you are paying for a small pc. especially if you have to swap out the dvdrom drive and get a chip and some other stuff.
The DC has good emu projects out there.
BTW my pc can do anything an xbox can do and better. Like can your xbox capture video or download divx or run a mail server or run a IIS host or triple or quad boot different os'es?
well i dont have any experience with Xbox mods, i believe that if you have even basic computer knowledge its not difficult.
and both systems run on a modified Windows platform, so i dunno why it would matter which you had.
my friend that modded only complained that he didnt put in a big enough hard drive! 160GB wasnt enough apparantly, and you cannot get that kind of size with DC|

$29.99 is a great deal, considering you have a giant library of free games at your disposal. All you need to do is download and burn them. No mod chip or anything is required unless you have one of the final, newer model Dreamcasts but I've only had a couple of friends that had these. You can find all the games you want on either IRC or alt.binaries.dreamcast Have fun!

I still have my Dreamcast. Mind you, I don't play it much anymore, but I still love it. Sonic Adventure was frickin' awesome on it, but SoulCalibur...holy Mackerel, I don't know of any DC game that had better graphics than SoulCalibur. The one thing that saddened me was the RPGs. Granted, I never got a chance to play, what was it, Phantasy Star online? Or something? I heard it was ok. Evolution, or some RPG like that was a major disppointment. Crazy Taxi was HELLA FUN. And the Street Fighter III games were major cool. I don't know if they ever came out for any other system besides DC, tho.
