I don't know how you can justify 300 bucks for noise canclelation headphones for music you are gonna crank on an aircraft or wherever...a decent set of regular phones such as the pair I have that was 20 bucks...does the trick on most aircraft. I have a set of Jensen's. They are those mid-size sets (cover your ear...not over them). Quite comforatble, great sound range...strong bass through treble etc...I like my music loud...so that drowns out any outside noise...and the sound does not bleed out to others nearby.
You can't go wrong with a set of bose, but if there is any threat of losing them in your travels...or getting crushed in some baggage somewhere...$20 is a better deal, in case they break...because nobody will warranty that kind of damage or loss.
As for frequent flying and bose. Most of the pilots I drive with that use Noise Cancellation, live and die with the Bose headsets. Their noise cancellation is phenomenal, and their durability is very good. The sticker price on the aviation models are around 1000 bucks...and they are NOT for playing music Course if the batteries crap out and they don't have their spare charged...you go insane since you're not used to having "all that noise"...Putting 6 hours a day in a plane makes that investment worth it.
