2.) a^2 = ab
3.) a^2-b^2=ab-b^2
4.) (a-b)(a+b)=b(a-b)
5.) a+b=b
6.) 2b = b
7.) 2 = 1
Fallacy: Every step is valid except for step 5, where we divided by a-b. a-b = a-a or b-b = 0, so we divided by zero, which is impossible.
As stated before.  Famous invalid proof.
