I wouldn't get so hung up on exactly duplicating the kick that you lose the overall forest for the trees. I would concentrate on all of the parts, and how they flow from section to section and over the course of the whole song (or mix).

Totally offtopic but last night I heard IAN VAN DAHL "Reason" and the main synth sounds 98% like TRAFFIC synth

BTW: in WINAMP5 there is videostream too and few good dance-trance channels out there!! Check it out!

I would but I can't export the loop from Techno eJay since it isn't Win XP compatible.

A HELL NO they didn't use a loop from techno ejay....I don't think that Christophe and Erik would do that...they have way too much hardware and way too much talent to do that. When they go for their kicks they use an Emu and start from there...I've spoken to them a few times and doesnt seem like they would use any type of pre-maufactured loop.

Then why does Techno eJay have the EXACT SAME drumloop in it? And before you ask, Techno eJay was out way before Reason...

Many people use pre-made loops, there's nothing weird about it.

Just because some artist has a lot of hardware or studio resources doesn't mean that they don't use samples or loops.

ok number one i've talked to both producers of Ian Van Dhal and know how they work...they are very anal about using pre made loops and stuff. Number two Ian Van Dahl was out before trechno ejay they were just under different alias's...honestly i really don't care and don't know why i'm posting to this but anyway these are my thoughts...think whatever you want cause i am content.
