~400ish this semester, I didnt buy one book though, but i think i might have to get it. I guess im not spending as much as some of you here.

What sucks even more is that textbooks arent tax deductable like tuition fees. Would be nice if it were.

Hey you think your profs ar cocksuckers? lemme tell you about one of my classes.

The course text is actually a cd that costs 80 dollars. This cd hasnt been changed over 2 years, so theres copies and people selling it all over the place. So you know what the class profs do to get a bigger cut of their students' money?

They do this: ( ))======D~~~

How this is done in my semester?
They bundle a term project(a few sheets of paper) with the course cd for my semester. So that you have to buy the whole package or kiss 15% of your course marks goodbye.

You know what the prof did when she was talking about those term project sheets? she opened up class webpage that contained detailed descriptions of the sheets, saying: "ok this is what you need for your term project. there are no files of it online so you have to get them somewhere else. whatever you do, make sure you get them"

I just wanted to run up and knock her out right there. Greedy bitch.

Hell I did what she said to do, I made sure I got them. I went down to the bookstoke and ripped out the damn sheets and walked out...paying $80 for five photocopies, my ass.

I hated that with a passion, every year of college that I completed (now that I graduated)...spending between 300-500 bucks on books per semester, it was pathetic. The college bookstore was the main problem because they oversold books badly. My final 2 semesters, I took a few courses (book was 13 bucks) and I took two where the teacher did not have a book for the course and the other teacher said don't buy it. Now that I'm job hunting, I sorta miss college because it was so much fun with my friends . Enjoy it while you can.

The profressor I had last semester is the CO-author to a text book.

Under the description of the authors it has this one d00d "Shames" with numerous text books he wirtten himself over the past 50 years.

My professor under his name has a blurb about the crap he did in college and thats it.

Then he has the audacity to tell us to buy the book right from the bookstore at full price so he can get his compensation. Any used books won't help. One thing is during the semester he told us "oh I just recieved my money one hundred+ something." WHO CARES!!

So during the semester he showed us the MIT website. They had this java program to help us to hw. Right before he exits the site he shows the book they are using and guess what! Its the book we are using CO and I mean CO-wrote BUDDY!! You can tell by how dumb the problems are that he made those.

I even felt bad for the TA who had to grade 70 HW's given every lecture MWF. So do the math--15 weeks/3 lectrues/70 students
3150 hw's to grade!!!

PS....This semester 630$ for books but I said F that and got mine on-line!! HALF.com/bares nobles/..etc!!
1)go to you professor you are having the next semester at the end of the semster before you have them. Then get all the ISBN's for each book. Find them online and buy them 2-3 weeks before semester starts just in case of mail slowness!! Save sooooo much money specially if you are an engineering major! AVG(150$ per book)!

try ebay, half.com, and amazon.com

you can find books at a huge discount there. used but in good condition, then turn around and get your money back by selling back on ebay/half/amazon.

or trade with other college students. ask around, buy from other students that just took the class.

BE SMART

I spent plenty on books throughout college...I sold everything I didn't need back. I still have an aviation library that takes up on 6 foot bookcase..probably a couple grand worth of text.

...bah...I don't want to think about school, it was too long ago.
