I went ahead and bought an Axis 9 as a secondary cd player to my cdj1000. I took it back the next day. Honestly, it's 2004...the fact that Numark's 'flagship cd player' only has a .1% pitch step is horrendous. I exchanged it for an s3000 the next day and love it.

they have a new one
firstly, the Axis was not created in 2004, and secondly they have a new flagship CD player.
Anyway, the difference is that Numark didn't go with te whole "vinyl emulation" trend shit going on these days. the Axis 9 is a straight up CD player, not a "digital turntable"
Also, why would you buy an Axis 9 to compliment a CDj-1000, of course it's going to look like crap in ron of that monster.

Numark didn't go the tunrtable wannabe route...i could have sworn they just released a new cd player with a fake vinyl record mounted on it. They went the farthest in trying to emulate vinyl thus far. The axis 9 is a good cd player in all respects except for the pitch step, which is horrensous, and is the most important to me.

i was taking about how the axis 9 was not supposed to be vinyl emulation , not the CDX1

I'd go with DNS3000 (cause that's what I got )... no seriously, it's a solid CD player, plenty of bells and whistles, and few hundred cheaper than DNS5000 or CDJ1000. (I paid $599 + Tax)
Axis 9 looks decent too but the other two have style know what I mean
pioneer all the way...i LOVE the feel of them and i would do anything for a pair of the cdj1000s

Yeah I figured I paid a little extra but it was sort of a last min. thing. I was the dj at a party (on Sat) and ended up running to Guitar center Friday afternoon hehe.
I'm in process of getting a 2nd one now. On agiprodj.com, min. advertised price says $699.99 ... I guess I'll ask them for a quote and will go check on dn-s5000's website for a possible link fr0st mentioned.
