Avoid Sony and Aiwa. I would go with Pioneer or Alpine. Get one with MP3 playback, you won't ever go back. And if you are planning on getting satellite radio, you can't go wrong with XM. Good sound quality, great music selection, and they're going 100% commercial free in the near future, if they haven't already. I've talked to NUMEROUS stereo shops and installation specialty shops and they have all told me to go with Pioneer. I have a Kenwood right now, and the only problem i have with it is it doesn't eject my CDs correctly most of the time. I have to mess with it for the CD to come out. And I don't see anything wrong with calling a HU a "deck", it's just like calling a turntable a "deck", it's just another name for it.

Well since no one buys head units with a "Cassette Deck" its technically not a deck. Head Unit is a more generic name that covers what ever is included with it (tuner,cd,amp, and may be a cassette deck). I know i must sound like the audio police but why not use the same terminology that most use?

i have a pioneer premier mp3 one and what i hate about it is that it only fits 8 characters in a display, so the name of track takes forever to scroll across. err, was a bit short on money buying it.

get one with a nicer screen.
