It's kind of ironic, people love the 1200 for it's simplicity, yet they praise Techincs for coming out with a (seemingly) very complex CDJ.

On the contrary... I think their decks look quite easy to operate even for an old DJ like myself. The fact that everything on them is based around the concept of the 1200s is brilliant.

The irony of the whole situation for me is while I am a loud mouthed protector of the vinyl art form I find myself secretly excited about these decks.

It would also be a nice 'up yours' to all the folks who insist on saying that everything is better than the Techs.

Cheers
Nem

For that kind of price, I'd rather get 2 TECH M3Ds w/a decent mixer and use the rest of the money to buy more records.

Well, the Numark decks are easy to operate as well, yet you still say they have too many extra features. Why is it differant for CDJ's ? (I mean "you" as in "people who say that", not you personally Nem ).

I'm sure it'll be a good cd deck but then again, there are other good alternatives.

But i guess this will be the new standard again since it's all about the brand name.

The only thing that puts me off the Technics CD player (aside from the price tage, lol) is that ugly silver finish they have. Call it sad, but when I pay so much for that kinda gear I want it to look as minted as possible. Hopefully they’ll make a black version...and I’ll win the lottery.

That has got to be the sweetest CD deck I have ever seen. Too bad I'd have to sell my soul (or crack) to afford it.
