If you are doing criminology I take it you are doing a law degree? Bond University on the Gold Coast is run by Griffith University. They are supposed to have innovate course programs from people I have spoken to.

From personal experience I have a Law degree from the University of Queensland which is in Brisbane which is an hour north of the Gold Coast. I think however that from a job prospects experience having a law degree from University of Queensland (UQ)or Queensland University of Technology (QUT) would be better than a degree from Bond/Griffith University though. Both UQ and QUT are in Brisbane though and there are no beaches in Brisbane.

From a dance/party perspective AVOID Queensland at all costs. Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne have more prestigious universities than Queensland and Sydney and Melbourne have a much healthier club scene from what I read on inthemix.com.

From a budget point of view the cost of living in Queensland is much cheaper than Sydney and I would suspect Melbourne as well but I havent lived in Melbourne.

Well first off, I'm quie sure that bond is not run by griffith.

as for job prospects -> bond has a 98.9% uptake -> so if you can ge a job after your degree.. you dont want one!
also its degrees are held in high regard [maybe because they cost so much?! ]

facilities @ bond are great [i especially like their 10mb internet ]

it does cost a lot to go there [hence loads of americans/canadians there ]

if you need any more info re enrolment or anything pm me

[edit - Bond is australia's only Privately owned uni]

I'd definately recommend Brisbane and the Gold Coast if you were willing to put up with absolute MINIMAL trance parties.

Other aspects of everyday life are better here than down south

Have to Agree here, my friend who is a senior lecturer at Griffith would have a heart attack if he heard someone saying Bond was run by Griffith. As One.tjc mentioned it is private, but merely Australia's first private uni, there are others around now.

I wouldnt say their degree's are held in high regard but they certainly dont have a negative reputation. The primary advantage of Bond is that they have 3 semesters, meaning you can get a 3 year degree in two, hence if you start work a year ahead of everyone else it slightly balances out the cost - roughly 35-40k AUD per year depending on your course, which isnt peanuts but then HECS isnt as user-friendly as it used to be...

You cant use HECS at bond - because its private

as for price -> 40K is learning how to paint nails..
haha law will cost you a fortune

I humbly apologise to all. I thought a couple of years ago it had financial troubles and became a campus of Griffith. My bad
