Maybe you were standing up front or something but i know when there's an insane vibe there. Hell i don't think they even open the upstair room that night. Anyway, i think they're excellent producers and still a big fan but that night their mixing sounded amateur. Its my opinion and you have yours |
The small room upstairs (aka "The Blue Room") is rarely open these days, unless someone books it for a special purpose or if a DJ is expected to cause major overcrowding in the main room and they will flow the music to the front room and the blue room and open it up. Other than special nights ((ie. Sunday's Spundae anniversary party this Sunday), 1015 completely controls that room, not Spundae.
Crowds these days at 1015 aren't that huge anymore...damn economy. When Armin played back in October, the Blue Room wouldn't have been open if it wasn't for a special private party that occupied the blue room for the first few hours of the night.
The main upstairs room (aka. The VIP Room) was open that night with DJ Infinity (a TAer) and a few hottrance.com DJs. They were playing some great stuff.
And when I am discussing the vibe, maybe "insane" is the wrong word to use...I mean more of a "fun" "just having a great time" vibe...it just appeared like everyone was having a lot of fun and was there to party that night. They weren't focused on the mixing and all and just enjoying the tracks being played (I will admit the mixing was far from great, but at least there were no immediate harsh cuts...want that, go see Thievery Corp DJ..the most horrible show I have ever seen)...the only real distraction that got to people was the volume issues, which was 1015's fault not G&Ds....the limiter on the sound system kept kicking in for some reason.
I'll surely be back there for them on March and April 16...then again, I'm constantly at 1015...lol
And speaking of 1015, I really wish Release would stop booking the big DJs for Ruby Skye on Friday Nights for their "Square" party....1015 SUCKs on Saturday nights now...there ain't shit to do in the city as far as clubbing except for when maybe D:Fuse comes....Dave getting Angry....ARRAGHGHHHH!!
