No offense bud, but his post doesn't deserve a flame, tech-forum or not.

And who said a GeForce2 is not "decent". Define decent for me please. Some people don't give two shits whether they have the latest pixel shader and DX support, as well as pure hardware power, etc. If you don't game, you don't need it. So relative to a person such as this, GeForce2 is fine.

I'm in the process of getting better system but meanwhile I am trying to get help on a few issues with XP. There was no need for you to be a fucking asshole.

hit the edit button. it rules. you don't have to make a new reply.

I assume you have tried to right click on the file you always want opened, go to open with, then to choose program. Then there is an option to always open this type of file with it.

worked for me.

Don't act like a pussy if you're not.

I drive an '89 station wagon to work every day and drive a state of the art 3.2G computer at the house. It's merely an allocation of resources on what you feel is important. Windows XP is tricky, but is what Bill Gates and company has left us consumers to deal with. Windows 2004 is on the horizon with 64 bit file systems which will significantly upgrade file access speeds. It will require some power to run. Win XP needs at least 128M of memory to operate, let alone do anything else. I suspect the Windows 2004 may require 256M.

Figure out what you want to drive.

Well- I am TRYING to be constructive here but
who upgrades to XP from 98? That was your first mistake-
You should have done a clean install of XP.

Your system is fine- Smokeape has valid points- but whatever
Work with what you have.

Yeah, I can't wait for W2004 either, along with 5,000 critical updates and security patches that will come with it over the next few years after release.

Oh well, that's what I get for being a lazy ass and not learning Linux.
