Obviously some tranceheads are not going to be digging the techno sound, that's totally fine. The night was awesome, you can't please everyone all the time. Bottom line is that the club went off the entire night, myself and Danny who run the night, as well as the managers of the club were all INCREDIBLY HAPPY with the way things went. Preach is awesome and blew most of us away, and that's what mattered!

Can't wait until I'm in MTL and seeing this at Aria every week =)

clarification

I am hoping my first post isn't misconstrued that I didn't have a great time at Viva.

On the contrary, several times during the evening I told my buddy that I had never had such incredible fun at a club, and I meant it sincerely. Like I posted, it was my first taste of techno music. For dancing and a great feeling of energy it was some of the best "vibe" music I have ever heard. As fun as it was, I'm not sure home listening would be the same.

As far as mixing goes, I don't have the technical savvy to know heads from tails. Perhaps that comes with time as a guy keeps listening to mixed music. People call some mixing brilliant and some mixing crap, and to be honest I rarely can tell a difference. It's only when there's a hugely abrupt change in between songs and you stop and go "whaaaaaa?" that I notice it at all.

When DJ Preach comes back into town, I'll definitely go again.

I forgot to comment on your set dj-sean. I thought it was fantastic! The track selection was amazing! Your transitions were very smooth. You know when to start and finish your mixes. My friends really loved your set as well :-) Btw, how often do you spin at Viva? Do you also spin at other clubs around Van?

Cheers man, glad you liked it. I spin pretty much every week at Viva though my timeslots vary, usually I either open or play middle slot but I close now and then. I have no other residencies in the city though I play other clubs and events occasionally.

Be sure to check us out in one of the coming weeks at Viva, you're obviously fond of the trancier sound and that's what you'll be hearing in the coming weeks =)

Hey Preach, can you name some of the tracks you played at Viva? I don't know many techno songs but your set rocked and I think you may have converted me

Anyway

Dude I am not a fucking retard I know what techno sounds like. I was not expecting any trance. I have a Preach CD and I rather enjoy it.

As for technical ability I think he is great. He can sure work a turntable. He also had lots of energy.

I just can't belive how offended you got, it makes me laugh. So it got boring for me after about an hour. 'OH MY GOD, I can't belive he said that!' Whats the big deal. Seriously I don't get it. I even danced my ass off for the first hour.

So just go fuck yourself already.

hey, morons, quit flaming each other. this is a clubnight review, not a damn flame war.

As for the actual night...DAMN I had a great time. Viva was a lot more alive than it usually is and the crowd was definitely loving it, regardless of what anybody else says. Preach, your mixing skills are the stuff of legends...hearing your set, I kept thinking that I have a lot of practicing to do! I so badly want to move back to Montreal so I can hear more of this stuff on weekends. Sean, your set rocked also, some wicked tuneage in there
