Imagine this: Your are grinding some cutie and your Mom/Dad comes over! they proceed to scold you telling you something like "I know i didn't bring you up this way!" -- I think that would be worse

I didn't interpret you as making fun either...

actually, I find the whole "older asian" thing at parties absolutely FASCINATING. Seriously, you don't see too many older white, black, latino, etc. people at parties...but I personally do see a healthy # of older Asian people. Why is that

as for *my* parents...no chance in hell it would ever happen, but I'd freak out if I ran into them at a club...especially if it was a night of "indulgence", lol...nevermind if I ran into them, trashed out of their mind, in a little conga line navigating the dance floor at Guv

it has a lot to do with the part of the world that they come from. other forms of evening entertainment are very popular in their culture which include, but are not limited to drinking, gambling, and wells a whole lotta other *stuff*..

^^^ some people who I've talked to wondered if it had to do with some of them having somewhat of a "repressed" childhood...ie. strict, "proper" upbringing...and so now they're letting loose!

this could be completely b.s. and a dumb stereotype of Asian culture in some parts of the world...but quite a few people (white people, to be precise, lol) think that might be part of it too.

it's not really. people with repressive lifestyles tend to be from predominantly more rural areas with a more conservative type lifestyle. Most of these people u see there are from parts of the world such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, Hanoi, Saigon, Taipei, Manilla, Seoul, etc. etc.. cities where people never sleep at night and life is always the on the go and where revelry among those living a priviledged lifestyle is very commonplace..

the electronic music scene is huge in Asia and bigger than it is here in N. America. It's also much more widely accepted where large corporate sponsored events take place which is much more closely adapted after the European model. these cultural anemeties provide a reason for people, even those in an older generation to seek out this type of lifestyle.

of course, there is also another big reason, but i'm sure u guys don't need me to tell you what that is..
