Z95 is the bane of my existance. I've done some DJ'ing at Kits Pub in Vancouver and it fucking drives me crazy when people request the shit that's played on Z. I'm way too big of a snob to really hold that job down now I think.
That and annoying cougars coming up to request Cindi Lauper, or my personal favourite, when they say "Play something I can dance to!" in the middle of playing Urban Train (actually happened). MUST.. CONTROL.. ANGER.
Anyways, the other day I was listening to Barthezz - On the Move on my 1200s, and right afterwards I put Z on (I have no idea why), to hear it playing. I was like "OMG WTF!!!", but of course it was one of their 6 second advertisements and they quickly got back to shitty top 40.
Here's to my fellow trance snobs!

As for Delerium, they are from Vancouver. So that justifies as Canadian content. That could explain why you heard Delerium in the early morning. |
thats CanCon you're talking about, the percentage was increased earlier this year, but i still dont get something, if Z has to comply with certain regulations that forbid them from playing "dance" music, how come do XFM and Fox have those shows on saturday nights that place electronic music? all three are pretty much top 40 stations, they just specialize in different music styles that have absolutely nothing to do with "dance" music, in fact Z porlly relates better to trance/house/techno than the 2 other
erm, my point is, its not so much up to laws and regulations, as to music directors and owners of stations that are being closed-minded
