Christians believe the Chicken came first because we believe God made the world and it says in Genesis that God made the animals.
Now atheists believe (well I think it varies) that the chicken came first. I did have an atheist science teacher that thought the egg came first.
There are some religions that do believe the egg came first for some reason but I believe that most of the rest of us believe the Chicken came first even tho our beliefs are vastly different.

Chickens evolved from the therapod family of dinosaurs, which also laid eggs.
So yes, the egg came first.

The egg came first because it contained the first actual chicken after millions of years of genetic evolution. The real question is, where did chickens originate. I heard it was in SE Asia but I'm not sure.
