Don't kid yourself, the alpha wasn't hard to get back then it's just hardly anybody had a computer that could play it at greater than 1 fps lmfao. You needed like the top of the line card at the time to run it properly (radeon 8500 is what it was optimized for I guess?). I never even bothered downloading it, although I do have high expectations for doom 3  It'll piss all over HL2. Realistic shooters like CS have become a worn out cliche in FPS.
