Not really sure what's going wrong (godda love decribing issues in text )...you hold down a track, but to keep it from moving you're now having to apply more pressure, or less? (maybe the motor that spins the magnet is dying?)

DMC Is the place to go if it's something like that. If it's just a pitch based issue (IE the dots), I'll post links for fixes

Its impossible to try and describe whats going on, especially since i dont know all the technical terms for things. Im pretty useless when it comes to this. So sorry all for my vague descriptions.

When both tt are at 0 the dots are exactly the same on each.
When i hold down a track i have to apply alot of pressure and when you let the record go (to get in time with the playing track,) gotta give it quite a push.

So if it is the motor , is it something that can be serviced?
I had a friend take it to someone a few months ago and they said there was nothing wrong with it.
So im pretty confused.

Only thing coming to mind is the motor. Techs are SO old, there's nothing about them that can't be fixed/swapped or replaced (I assume. They are made to go forever).

I suggest taking it to DMC, and get them to call you when they find out what the problem is, and then they can fix it if you want. They WILL charge you $90 just to look at it, but at least you're going to know if it's worth repair or getting a new one.....

nix its definitly the motor... when we spin at your place i always have to give the left one a bigger push to sync with the other deck -its an old technics turntable and just like in an old car, the motor can lose its life and in the case of the turntables - struggle to keep the platter spinning. I doubt it is worth repairing (unless it has something to do with the amount of electrical power its receiving from the outlet source being insufficient) but my bet is on the age factor of the poor little turntable...
