Down-tempo, in my own humble mind, is stuff like massive attach or portishead.

Here’s a few examples as there is so many sub genres, I grouped Downtempo and Ambient together as they are kind of related.

House

Ambient is usually beatless and much more abstract. Listen to a few songs I mentioned earlier.

dj dan used to play trance...i liked that style more

now he plays house more....still a good dj

chillout, downtempo and ambient are usually grouped under chillout but they are all seperate and all different.

ambient is usually adding wind samples, makes you feel like you are in another place then sitting at home listening

chillout is a popular word these days

downtempo is usually different

you have to listen to understand and I'm learning that..since I review all 3 genres for ivibes...i see the difference.
