Here's my review for all you bible thumpers:

Mass promotion for a heavenly box office return
It's all stops out as Mel Gibson prepares to spread the word, writes Mark Pinsky.
In churches throughout America, Mel Gibson is this week taking to the airwaves to promote his controversial film, The Passion of The Christ.
It's his latest effort in an innovative marketing campaign that could make this the most successful religious movie yet.
.
.
.
Its backers are using the informal channels of promotion - churches, religious radio stations, Christian bookstores and the internet - that made a success of the animated VeggieTales videos. Last year, VeggieTales' Jonah, its first feature released to theatres, earned $US25.5 million ($33.55 million) at the box office.
The Passion is the third explicitly religious film released in the past six months, the others being Luther and The Gospel of John. Backers of each film have tried to mobilise grassroots Christian support, arranging for preview screenings for pastors and designing websites suggesting sermon topics in connection with the films' release.
But Gibson's campaign, experts say, means The Passion's grosses are likely to dwarf those of Luther and The Gospel of John.
Ted Baehr of MovieGuide, which reviews films for spiritual content, predicts Gibson's film could top $US100 million at the box office, the traditional standard for a blockbuster.

Take all that in? Sound familiar?
Matt 21:12 (NIV) Jesus entered the temple area and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 "It is written," he said to them, "`My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are making it a `den of robbers.'"
Mark 11:15 (NIV) On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple area and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17 And as he taught them, he said, "Is it not written: `My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'? But you have made it `a den of robbers.'" 18 The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.
Luke 19:45 (NIV) Then he entered the temple area and began driving out those who were selling. 46 "It is written," he said to them, "`My house will be a house of prayer'; but you have made it `a den of robbers.'" 47 Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him.
John 2:13 (NIV) When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. 16 To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!" 17 His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me."
Anticipated fundie response: "But that's different. It's not a house of worship, they're trying to get the word of God out ... blah blah blah blah!"
Yea whatever, you escape literal damnation, but it's still profiteering off of the death of christ. I knew I liked Gibson for a reason

And, and, there are NO contradictions!
And, and, I don't care if Gibson thought it best to pick and choose the parts out of those 4 Gospels he saw fit! God told him to do it, so there!

if u don't fully believe the story of jesus then i would say Do Not go see this movie.
I myself believe in the other story of christ with mary magdalene and Jesus being married.
Even fi you do believe it, I still doubt you'll like it.
It totally doesn't lead up to the hype.
Some things i liked about it were that the entire movie is done in Aramaic which I thought was totally awesome. It's a very beautiful language. Also the way they portrayed jesus as a human (I believe that he was entirely human - jesus became divine when a bunch of pagans got together under Constantine during the making of the The Nicene Creed and voted on if he was divine or not - the vote was a close one too) I liked alot.
Just once though I wish they would use an actual arabs. JEsus was not white.

i thought it was a wonderful film. It was very brutal in some points and it stirred up emotions in myself. Upon reflection, why pout about anything, even if u are in africa starving, you were never treated in such a manner that Jesus had where you were surrounded in hate, denied by those closest to you, and ending your mortality with every drop of blood gone from you. The whipping scene was hard to watch
