it's not the sound that's cheesy, the sound is wicked, it's the melody that's cheesy and make u think it's the sound. patch that supersaw with a M.I.K.E. melody , trust me it won't sound cheesy.
Rbk1, great job, i agree hardware rules man. I'm glad someone has the balls to say it. Ive always said it and i'll say it again, if you could download a jp 8080 on a warez site, nobody would even be mentioning vsts.
| quote: | | i have 2 oscs and i have a lower and upper patch, then i can set performance and use another 2 patches each with their upper and lower combining all the sounds together to make something.. now that would be crazyyyyy... |
i don't get this. what do u mean by a lower and upper patch. I thought the jp8080 was only 2 part multimbral, how can u get 4 parts?

VST's will eventually become parallel to hardware synths (they are getting that way now), the only thing you can never emulate exactly in the digital domain is analog circutry such as tube's, unless of course you buy some kind of PCI card with tubes on it :P

That's the biggest horsesh**t I ever heard. Vsts will never ever everrrrrrrr be as good as current hardware synths. Sure maybe in 5 years they'll be a vst similiar sounding to a jp8080 , but a vst will never sound as good as current hardware. As technology changes so will hardware change. Dsp chips will become more advanced just a pc will become more powerful. Point is computers are not built to run just audio programs, thet are designed to run a enormous amount of different applications, where as hardware components are specifically designed to run that piece of hardware.
And another reason why vsts will never ever be as high tech as hardware is piracy. Do you really believe a company like Roland is going to design a powerful vst that sounds just as good as there top of the line hardware synths. absolutely not unless they want to go bankrupt the first week.
And say some small software company does come out with some revolutionary vst that rivals top of the line hardware. Hardware synth companies will have no choice but to either close shop or improve on what they have. In that case hardware will always be an extra step ahead.

i don't need to own hardware to know this. I've played with hardware many times and I know the difference. I even beat out a bunch of hardware users in a contest where u had to guess which of the 17 sounds were a virus c or zeta. i got 16 out of 17 right and i beat out guys who owned hardware. Just listen to rb2k1's samples and tell me they don't sound better than that joke of a sunth called vanguard. give me a break. another hyped vst that sucks. plastic, thin and cheap. thats what u get for 60 bucks. cheap!
And as for you Damie, i'll never unblock you and i've erased you from my list. I helped you so much whenever you asked, I took time to listen to your tracks, to answer questions and offer my advice and you treated me like a piece of shit. you disrespected me for no reason, you were rude, and you are lucky i wasn't standing in front of you cause i don't take that kind of verbal abuse from some punk ass loud mouth . I don't have to help anyone. ask around on this site, ask dj kuruption, vert, alanzo, etc.. if i'm not a helpful guy. they show me respect and i give them my respect in return. and i do my best to pass on what ive learned to others. now you want me to unblock you, even the way you wrote to me lacks any respect. your bold and you got alot to learn. good luck yoi'll need it.

Dude, its the internet. Saying things that people wouldnt normaly say is what its all about. Just like talking to people you wouldnt normaly get to talk to.
Sorry if you took me to seriously, but Im not sure what you mean by respect. I dont recall emialing you virus's and linking you to porn.
Your a big ass guy who wouldnt speak to me at all in real life, let alone take the cheek I was giving you. But if you remember correctly, I thought it was cool that you had the sense of humor and took it as a joke. I thought it was cool that all you were intereseted about was the love of music.
If you remember correctly thats why you blocked me in the first place, a comment I made about music.
I dont want to drag this on in this thread, as I get on with the guy who made this thread also.
Im sorry, now come on, you blocked me for a stupid reason, Unblock me for a stupid one too

That is a load crap, just look at companies such as Arturia who have released the amazing CS-80 and Moog VSTi's, they solely release software. Robert A. Moog himself endorses their product.

Moog endorses the cs80 just like BT endorses m-audio products. Money talks.Arturia models synths from the 60's and 70's. Obviously duplicating a 30 year old synth doesn't require state of the art dsp chips. And if you demoed the new minimoog it isn't even close to the real thing. go try a real minimoog and you'll notice the difference. They can't even emulate 30 year old synths, you think they are gonna come out with a virus vst anytime soon. no way. unless u got a powercore you wont see a virus vst until your first son celebrates his highschool prom. I admit the cs80 is a really nice vst as is the imposcar and minimoog, and they do come close in certain aspects to the real thing, the filters are really nice, but your talking aboout synths that were around before you were even born. Sure i can see maybe in 10 years a virus vst coming ourt, but by then we'll have the virus z and it will make that vst look like a fisger price keyboard.

Your a horrible liar. Do you still make your friends listen to my tunes and tell them you made them? you should hook up with Sirocco, you guys would be best buds. The reaon i blocked you is cause i had my nickname on msn as "the future is trance", and you messaged me and said " my nicknames are annoying, and it pisses you off, and makes you nervous, or some shit like that. You were a rude little ass jockey, so don't message me here again. Your not only a little weisel but a liar also. You have no idea who your dealing with. this is my final warning to you. shut up and dont bother me again.
sorry for everyone who had to read this, but man some people really need a kick in the ass.
