well first off, about Darude, Zombie Nation, and Storm...they produce CHEESY SHIT, and should all jump off a cliff, especially darude (mr.self proclaimed world's greatest producer).

secondly, about sasha and digweed...just cause you don't like, or better yet *understand*, what they spin, you can't go knocking the world's two best dj's. they don't pic out anthems cause that's not there style, instead they use realatively unkown tracks (especially cause alot of them are unreleased) and slowly build the intensity through the night, bringing the crowd to a peak without them even realizing it. and no one, i repeat no one, is a better mixer than either of those guys. end of story.

ohhh yeah, it's kind of hard to avoid that 'commercial' label when you are rated numbers one and three in the world respectively. pvd releases an album every six months, so does tiesto, i'd call that pretty damned commercial too. but does it make them bad dj's, i don't think so.

Has Darude actually claimed to be the best producer in the world? I can't believe that! Amazing..talk about confidence (and ignorance).
Well, that's not really why I'm posting. I simply think that Storm doesn't deserve to be labeled as commercial shit, given the heritage of the two producers Jam El Mar and Mark Spoon. Remember "The Age Of Love", "Right In The Night" and "Storm". I don't think these are formulaic or commercial, but just happened to be universally likeable, and therefore became commercial hits. I still rate these tracks up high along my faourites.

Right In The Night is easily in my top 5 fave Eurodance tracks of all time... I still listen to it once in a while..

Shame / Disagreement

God Damnit!

This is why I sometimes HATE forums. You post an opinion and people attack you for it. Hey, that is fine, but don't convelute what I am saying. No Positiva, I am not saying Darude and Zombie Nation are bad producers. Read what the fuck I said and you will see what I meant. I stated, in my opinion, Darude is a bit more commercial then Sasha. Wouldn't most people agree? Take Sandstorm. You here it non-stop. When was the last time you heard Arkham Asylum on the radio? Arkham Asylum? Huh, what? (Sasha track) Furthermore, I think the term commercial is being confused with well-known. Great, John Doe can tell me Sasha has a residency at Twilo. Does that make him commercial? Absolutely not. I understand that for some people on this site English is not a first language. I am cool with that, I like the diversity it brings. But for non-English and English speakers alike, commercial does not necessarily mean well-known. Commercial refers to what is generally accepted by the public. Hey, electronic music is not too big in the states. My girlfriend may be able to tell me Sasha is a dj, but the only electronic music she will listen to, is bubblely, cheese trance (i.e. DARUDE!!!)

So please, if you need to, reread my posts. I don't care if you quote and then flame me. But don't put words into my mouth. It is disrespectful.

Thumbs up ok

I feel like saying something here...
I haven't heard much of Digweed OR Sasha, but I would have to say simply from Sasha's GU Ibiza disc you cannot say he is shitty DJ. When I first got the disc all I listened to were the more 'friendly' songs on there (i.e. disc 2). Recently I became infected with it as a whole. Sasha brings the listener from a standstill, to off the hook by the end of cd one. I agree with the statement that his sound is very progressive, with subtlety the name of the game. As for mixing skills, I have heard Sasha do amazing things I have never heard Tiesto, Oakey, AvB or anyone else doing. Take Sander Kleinenberg - Sacred in GU disc one. He never plays the song for longer than a minute and a half but even after he moves to the next song, sacred is brought in and out until the end of the disc. Sasha is not just playing songs one after the other, he weaves a soundscape. Umm...yeah stuff and things. well i have run out of things to say and i need to do something beyond this whole forum thing - so i will stop right now. peez

Check out Oakenfold's EM from Ibiza in mid-99. He does the same thing Sasha did with Sacred, except with Nalin & Kane's Open Your Eyes. In my humble opinion, it is better than even Sasha's legendary GU San Fran!

Sot!!! you took the words out of my mouth...i feel the same way about Sasha & Digweed... i love epic and Uplifting Trance.. thats why i think there boring if someone is really into Pure Progressive trance thats is more repetive with the synth lines...then you could really enjoy S&D's stuff... .but still i think its kinda boring in my mind.. But people forget to relize is that Djing is not about being cool and play pure progressive tunes..and mixing well!!.... the most important aspect is that can they read the crowd well and know what tunes to play are the top djs in my mind... like Paul van dyk...he doesnt play just one type of trance... its all mixed progressive,epic,hard,techno...all together and he can read the crowd so well and that make me just go insane...i love it...when i saw Sasha & DIgweed they didnt do anything to me like Van dyk did!!...but people have different tastes so who cares right!! but if they do it for you then the better for you =).. still think S&D are boring loL!!

i am just having problems with the fact that someone said S&D suck and we should all listen to Acosta...jesus. 'good track selection' doesnt involve picking all the most obvious anthems.

whenever i imagine someone who calls music repetitive and boring all i see is someone with no attention span who put about 15 mins into trying to understand the appeal. the fact is: they are pioneers in the underground, and can move you with shit youve never heard before if you are willing to give them a chance. late/

I don't think their mixing is bad, but since I prefer uplifting trance, their track sets are soo boring for me...
