i have an 88 jetta and i absolutely am a big fan of VWs. The community is great and tight. Japanese car and american muscle car enthusiasts spend so much mindless time talking shit to each other and i'm glad VW owners have their own circle of independence.
i wish i had a Corrado (sp?). I love my jetta but recently it's been giving me problems. don't die on me!

We had a green 1969 Volkswagen Beetle 1500s

True classic car

My mom smashed it to pieces, she hit a garbage truck...

What a way to end a car's life

My dad's first car was one of those older Beetle's, not sure what year it was though. Its life ended in about the same way yours did. I think he was going around an onramp entirely too fast and flipped it on its roof, landed him in the hospital and totaled the car.

out here in california, dub only means two things.

dub = 20" rims, rims 20"+ in general.
dub is also a 20 sack, a gram of sweet cheba.

never heard of vw's getting called dub's before. though i've heard them being called 'flyers' because I guess jetta's or gti's when supercharged/modded heavily can fly.

poo, i love my 02' mini s though, for a compact it flys.

I had a VW Transporter (1984), but I sold it last summer...
Now I have a Passat 1.9 TDI automatic (2000)

That's a very good car.
