Ah Eve Recordings! Brings back memories indeed

I used to absolutly love everything from Eve & Telica Recordings. Have all the 20 first Eve releases (plus a selected few of the ones leading up to release 50 or something) and the 15 first Telica recrdings. Pablo Gargano was the man!

However I'm not sure he was that much ahead of his time though. He just did mint productions. And was creative as hell. Released most stuff on Eve himself, as well ran the label, designed the sleeves and web site and just about everything else. However, The melody on the A-side of Eve 12 was taken from Nostrum's Brainchild, released in 1994. So ahead of it's time it was not.

But I will still hold those two labels up with classics such as Noom, Bonzai, Important, Le Petit Prince, Overdrive, Choci's Chewns etc.

I think I know what you mean....I got so heavily into the whole EDM thing and became so demanding of it, that I started going to gigs and instead of going there with the simple thought of trying to enjoy the music, I found myself more worried about the DJ playing only tracks I like, making perfect transitions, etc....to the point where I found myself not liking gigs more often than not...

This seems to be a theme (along with simply listening to tracks) that I see a lot of people here falling into...and it's noticeably effecting more of the long time tranceaddicts than the new ones. Just watch someone who comes on as a new user and gets addicted to the board..as he or she starts communicating and gets into discussions analyzing tracks, gigs, DJs, etc and becoming more knowledgeable about the scene, you will notice they slowly become more jaded/critical of everything...

With that... in the past four or five months I've made the effort to try to get out of this theme/trap....I still get trapped in it from time to time, but for the most part I don't and I am back to really enjoying my nights out at clubs listening to some great tunes and not minding inperfect beatmatching here and there...so as long as it isn't so bad it makes everyone go, "WTF was that?"...I don't criticize a DJ because every track isn't one that I necessarily like....I go with a positive attitude and a positive vibe and am once again really enjoying the nights I go out.

Like it man, like it very much...... Good idea - think I've been spending too much time analyzing and not enough time enjoying and lightening up about it really.

Good observations!

Now that I did not know at all!

Noom! I remember hearing a tune call Kiss Myself on that label that I just remember as being amazing but have only heard it once and never found it again.

Hey!!! Tell you what else I found out! Cygnus X - Hypermetrical - rare and impossible to get hold of eh?

Well, Virgin Records have a pay for MP3 site that has all of Cygnus X's tunes on it! so for £10 you can get Hypermetrical. WHAT AN ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(don't have iTunes in UK)

it's at http://sib1.od2.com/common/frameset/frames.asp

And check out the French Pop!
