Because I grew up thinking about harmonies, thinking about ways in which tones interact, you know. I can see them in my mind: it's visual. Sometimes they slice through, sometimes they weave around. It's all very much about shapes and patterns....

When I listen to trance, it's hard to explain, but here we go. When I listen to trance, I imagine a technological world inside our brains. There are people and everything in between. When a person is good, everything is fine. But, when a person is out of control, mad, or possessed, all the people in his or her mind are all of a sudden controlled by a dictator. I have a strong feeling that the devil is messing with their heads and transforms them and everything else around it with pure evil. The evil can sometimes be so great, much like a nuclear explosion, that would send a person into a rampage. Murder, assault, domestic violence, all symbolize the terror that is going on, which leads to the good part.
I watch Maury a lot and when I see out of control teens, destructive husbands and freaky phobias, I always imagine that the devil is the cause for these horrors. What these people needed was a little inspiration from both outside and from above. To save the day, soldiers from wars past fight to the death to do only one thing and that is to liberate the mind and body of the devil's evil ways. The soldiers whom I imagine are called the Archangels or "Soldiers of God." When the trance beats get more and more intense and the speech spoken from outside is having such an effect on the person, war has begun and the soldiers are fired up by it and the devil and his minions have no idea what hit them. And so as the soldiers move in, so does the navy, air force, and just everything that is evil is destroyed. Once the war is over, the celebration begins with one giant trance party.
If you think this is corny, all well.

i imagine everything from diving into a lake, to sitting by the seaside.

Some music gives me the sense of a victory.

or something ancient

The way the song makes me feel makes me think of sad situations and vice versa depending on the song.
