Hahaha, I have been so nervous spinning out that I have taken the needle off the reord that was playing! DOH!

Thankfully being nervous has escaped me when I play, but I still want to make sure that I play a kick ass set for all my friends and others that are out to hear me.

I always make sure to bring a little of the good ganja with me whenever I am playing out!

burns,

that's natural. The first time I spinned publically, I was nervous as a fu(k. But after about 5 mixes, I was feeling much more comfortable.

You'll feel much more comfortable the next time you spin, GUARENTEED.
The first is always the most tense. The rest is downhill.

some of you guy probably think it's bullshit, but it's not. it works for me every time I'm nervous.....

I agree with you 100%... meditation can be a great relaxant, and it doesn't fuck up your reflexes like alcohol/drugs... reflexes that you'll need to get a good beatmatch going.

Also, make sure that you get to your gig a good bit ahead of time so you can set up your gear and check it all in a leisurely manner. 15 minutes just isn't enough to get your whole system up and running and your set prepared. If you have plenty of time you'll be more relaxed once the set starts, because you won't be wigging out over your gear or what tracks you're going to play. Once things get moving, it'll be a cakewalk.

Something strange happend to me when i spin...
The space disappear, the people who dont dance disappear, the people working with me disappear, AND MY GIRLFRIEND DISAPPEAR!!
Only people who really move their body can get my attention.
Because of this i work better when the crowd is bigger, and i feel REALLY happy.

wow! I remember that happening to me.... just that my girfriend wasn't there with me..... and the people who were dancing were so close to me, I couldn't see the ones who weren't dancing..... (there were about 200-300 people at that party, and almost all of them were dancing)
that really helps... and it's another piece of advice for not being nervous.... you gotta work on that.... just pay attention to that dancing crowd, and don't give a fuck about all the rest.....

That's why it's called TRANCE guys...

That happens a lot when I'm just listening to a track or a set or something, it feels like the sound just becomes one big pipe - I don't hear a beat or anything (I feel it) and it all swirls around me. Sometimes when I'm mixing I start to feel my heart beat in time to the music, too - which, at 140 bpm or so, probably isn't all that healthy, but it feels cool anyway

Love

that happens to me too sometimes......
when that happens I'm alot more awake and alert and I can mix alot better that way, by just listen to my heartbeat . but after the mix I have to drink lots of cold water or some sweet drink.... like coke or just some kind of juice....... cause my metabolism is high, and I sweat like a pig...... and besides, I need something to cool me off......
but that only happens in some of my sets... never when I listen to stuff at home.... hehe......
