If he wanted to do it for his faith, he should have said: "I'm not making a dime on this movie - it will all go to charity".. and even then, his intentions would be dubious, at best. Well, all I know is if someone does end up getting hurt as a result of seeing this movie, you'll probably see some lawsuits being filed against Mel. It would be sad, sad, sad day but I hope they sue him and get him for all he's got. Though, loss of human life would be a terrible tragedy - even his. If something should happen - let it be on his conscience - that he added fuel to the fire. User your own brain, end of story. "..thou shall not kill"

Mel actually ploughd lots of money into this film because no one would invest, so he took a risk to make it, so why cant he take the reward from it? he does not recieve ALL the money made, because that is distrubuted out.

From what i know Mel is a very good man. He leads a model life and he is never in the news for anything bad, or thats what i know off. He has lots of kids and respects his wife like a good husband...(if i got this wrong well then im sorry)

If you think a film like this causes people to use it as an excuse to do horrible actions, then u may as well stop nearly everyhting in life. e.g.
Car kills people everyday, so lets just stop ppl using cars.
Films too, lets stop horror movies coz u give ppl the incentive to use that film as a means of killing someone, or even murder detective programmes like CSI or something, and u can know how to commit the perfect crime. The list is endless...

yes, obviously the passion of christ made them people spray swastikas, jsut liek ecstacy turns peopel into psychos and makes them go on killing spree's

BTW, one of the main characters in Shindler's list is a German, who was actually helping jews. It wasn't just the brutality of Germans. Same with the new movie "The Pianist".

That's not the point though..

The point is that Mel Gibson knew very well when he was making Passion that this movie would provoke acts of vandalism, antisemitism etc. Yet whenever he was asked about the movie being antisemitic he just shrugged it off.

BTW, Mel's father has admitted to be antisemitic. Mel Gibson probably is as well, though obviously he will never admit that publically.

If the only message you got out of the movie was that Jews killed Jesus, then you were probably an anti-semite before you went out to see it.

I personally think it's ridiculous that people have to censor that into which they put in their creativity, hard work, and dedication just to ensure that a few stupid people don't do something bad. Should we not have car movies because it'll inspire car thieves and racers? Should we not make action movies because it'll inspire people to go out and start shooting up buildings? Get real.

Unless Mel Gibson is actually the person doing the vandalism, he isn't responsible for it, but rather the people who are actually vandalizing are responsible for the vandalism.
