how do you create a kick from scratch??

is it possible like with a subtractor?

Sloough, since the original sample source was 192kb/s mp3, there's really no value of converting it to wav, as the mp3 compression will be in there regardless.

As for creating a pro trance kick from scratch, you'll want to use a 909 or 909 emulator to create a good bass sound, then layer it with all sorts of percy stuff that's filtered like crazy to give it a nice crunch. Try layering it with a snare for instance, and then adding reverb to the high frequencies.

Oh well, Its just it was sounding none too good when it had been run through various editors (Recompression and bit of reverb.)
