It's kind of like an theory for life as well as this case that the longer you put something off the harder it gets. The officials did this knowing that the best way to get back to living like how you would everyday is to actually do those things and soccer is a big part of that. Mentally the country can't be in fear because then we become weaker, we must show those they cannot put fear into Spain! |
I agree, although I doubt that was UEFA's motivation. UEFA are only interested in the money generated through TV coverage/sponsorships etc. They have a history of it. At the Heysel stadium disaster they ordered the European Cup Final to be played minutes after 39 people had been killed in one of the stands. The players didn't even know and were made to play the game regardless "to avoid further trouble". The players later said would never have played had they been told that so many people had been killed and injured before the match. This is the attitude of UEFA.
