Well, if this is to be a contest to think of the sharpest, most humorous retort, then I certainly concede victory to you in this case. However, I am a conservative, and by definition that means I have no sense of humor, so therefore I will cease any pretense of being amusing and come to the core of the issue at hand. First I will address the source of the ad. MoveOn.org is hardly what anyone would call reliable journalism. But it's a clip of a TV show, so let's address what was said in the clip. Mr. Rumsfeld's first statement, ended with "I would not be so certain." This does not imply a statement that Iraq is an immediate threat. The wording of the statement indicates a possibility of either way. He was not making a statement on the matter one way or the other, he was simply arguing against those who thought themselves to be fully convinced that there was no threat. Granted, it appears that they were right, but at the time of the quote, it could not be known for certain. As Rumsfeld himself said, he tried to be precise and accurate, and that is the best anyone could have done at that time. The second statement attributed to Mr. Rumsfeld is a comparison statement, which can be summarized as "no terror state poses a ... more immediate threat. In this form, it makes no comment on how immediate the threat was, it only commented that off all possible threats, this was the greatest. An argument has been made for the latter point. Furthermore, the second statement mentions not only "the security of our people" but also "the stability of the world." While Saddam may not have had the ability to directly use weapons on the USA, Saddam's regime was still a threat to the stability of the world, in many ways not necessarily having to do with WMD. Next we come to our previous exchange. I made a reference to "half-wit liberals." It cannot be denied that there are some who post here who easily deserve to be called half-wit liberals. They are the ones who compare Bush to Hitler without thinking, go PwNeD Bi4tCH!!!11 whenever they see an ad like this, etc. You know what I mean. Now, if you analyze my statement a little further, you might notice that I do not believe all liberals to be half-wits. There are many liberals I know, where I respect their opinions, and I disagree, and we have well-informed discussions on the matter. I also allow for the existence of "ass-clown conservatives." Personally, I would object to being described as such, but there are a few conservatives I know who rightly deserve to be called ass-clowns. Which type of liberal you choose to be is up to you.

Save it for the political forum mate.

And use paragraphs next time, then maybe people will bother reading it
