i would just find that uterly pointless. half of the stuff you would never get round to listening to.

It's been collected over a period of time and is sorted in the cleanest manner. And my musical whims and fancies fluctuate more than my moods.

With that, each MP3 gets it's appropriate share of WinAmp time

Besides, I've not counted the files I've deleted. All uplifting crap. And before anybody says it....I do buy my share of Albums (& rip them to MP3s)

i got around 100 GB of just music that i've sorted through and decided were keepers. also, i must have deleted, since i started collecting, around 100 GB of utter shite music as well.

but to keep the record straight, i have around... 500GB+ many on dvd-r and cd-r cos my HDD's limit is 220 GB.

oh and i too buy my fair share of cd's/movies and rip them to preserve the original

Ugh, I hate it when people call downloading mp3's 'collecting'. 'Collecting' should refer to physical items as in "I collect vinyl/cds" not "I collect mp3's, I have ten thousand"

Well for difficult people, such as yourself, we burn the MP3s to CDs/DVDs. Then we can say I have a 10,000 MP3 collection spread across x amount of CDs/DVDs. That way what was once not a physical object can now be considered a physical object in a sense, since it's been burned to CD/DVD.
