didn't even bother with seb at creamfields this year caus i hav bad memories like the rest of u who were at sss...i agree with u dj callaghan-last year seb rocked!now he can still mix but picks bad tunes..which are just as important!
wot shocks me is that it seems even oakie has followed this progressive curve towards the slower u.s/progressive house genre.i was dissapointed with him at sss but thought about lettin him hav one more chance to redeem himself..i walked out after 30mins!
he began with depeche mode-i feel love but them backtracked towards very mundane unknown progg tracks.i heard he finished with the dj boland's the prophet but overall i seem disheartened with "the richest dj in the world"

cum on guys..wheres the trance gone?

My view exactly like at GCSS we nearly got crushed watching Oakie, and the ****** only played just about one track i would call trance which was Da Hool 'meet her at the love parade the orginal' I think Oakies turned shit, and no offense to yanks on here but I think what most of them call trance is more like progressive house, I dunno just from what I gathered Sandra Collins was wicked and quite trancey, but I've listened to like people like Taylor who supposed to be Mr trance and it was more like listening to someone like Sasha, I think Oakies time in the USA has made him more progressive, I hope at the NEC he actually plays some more trance tracks, not saying he should be more like Tiesto or PVD, but it certainly pisses some people off, it wouldn't suprise me if he doe's turn totally progressive, Oakenfolds really going down in my books, and one old little lord Fontelroy yeah fonty was wicked a year ago, I actually got a fonty cd from Ministry its around practically a year old, and it fucking wicked cd. lets hope things go back to the good old days with them two djs mentioned.

prog trance and prog house are two seperate things, and a lot of ppl mix the two into one bag & that fucks me off... prog trance is the dogz daves.. nuff sed. but when a well known trance DJ gets out the house stuff its always a bad sign... i.e. uncle seb, who was a dj/god a year or two back.. pfft he may aswell throw in the towel as far as im concerned.

another groan about SSS.... ive heard all sorts of rumours that carl cox was good at summer sound system... but is it just me or was he really that shite? what i heard of him he was playin crap techno way too slow...

Yeah I understand where your coming from with the prog trance prog house thing, I was just commenting that Oakenfold might as well put his name down on that flyer as Digweed the stuff he came out with was well housey, Not saying I hate progressive house I just think a lot of it is complete and utter shite boring as fuck, with elitest wankers walking around clubs as if they own the place thats a stereotype of the people though I hear that walked around around Home and rennaisance, music wise tenaglia and stuff like that is wicked, Prog trance love it! Tiesto the pionneer of it in my view, also like Nick Warren, but the dudes very versatile moves between, house and trance, as for Uncle seb fuck I really do hate slagging some djs off (even though I do it too often) he was so good its just a pity in way how some Djs try to create their own style which isn't wrong but sebs gone a bit too extreme, i didn't catch Coxy at SSS more bothered about PVD (I don't like rubbing that in as I know some of u guys were in the land of Morrocan woodbines crashed out on the floor unable to see PVD) but PVD wicked set, caught a couple groups of people leaving for Coxy though, I thought to myself is it really worth it? I like techno but the sort of techno I listened to in my dreamscape days was that gabba stuff about 2000 bpms hhahah, I think Carl Cox is a good DJ, but I think a great lot of his followers are mostly T shirts oh I read in Mixmag or another mag that Coxys the bollocks 'lets go see him to say we seen him' not for the tunes though, I think a lot of Djs out there get overated and some do have shit days but it progress more and more, and i think a couple more will do a fonty change their music to inherit a distinctive style. thats my view anyway

I give coxy respect cos he's been around for years and he is a good Dj, but a lot of people i think who watch him at the festivals don't knwo what good and bad techno sets r. I know no one here shoudl trust me really on techno after all around 96/98 I was jumping around massive warehouses with gloves, listening to people like Clarkee and co in the technodrome haha funny days them, but found trance in 98 best discovery ever. But yeah don't trust any techno judgements I give, cos half of its based on my bullshit youth years.
