finally got the damn program to work
k so id have to agree with the kick beaing to weak, but damn i love the bassline and beats, sounds like M.I.K.E. style, amazing
the bass could use a little mastering because it sounds like its sticking out, i cant explain very well
that synth that comes in in the middle of the track, doesnt match very well hehe
its too nintendo sound if u know what i mean, u could change that synth to a more trancy one,
the beginning and ending of the track are very nicely done (except for mastering)
it could be a killer, maybe MIKE himself will make a remix who knows
be sure to update, cant wait

NIce sound, I am trying to make stuff myself right now and can appreciate the work that has gone into this. Sounds nice. Some of the breaks need work, make your bassline louder (you have to feel the bass) Otherwise i like the way you work in and out the melody. Change the instrument on ur main melody in the middle, and the breaks right in the middle, are alittle weak. And the way you bring back in the bassline is nice. Good job

on first listen, there is some technical issues that need to be worked out first...

i find the clap to be annoying... hi hats are uninspiring.. kick is very weak... try to use some heavy compression on it and layer a very soft hi hat over it to give it more presence in the mix...

on the other hand, i like the melody and bass.. it certainly seems you at least have SOME musical experience and you didn't just play some random notes and put it together... I think the lead sounds pretty unique and i think you should leave it as is instead of making it more "trancey" as someone else suggested... The strings are a nice addition but they do tend to make the track not as energetic.. so try to leave them out in some places to boost the overall dynamics of the track...

i really don't like the organ lead thing that starts at like (4:54)... i just think it makes it more cheesy sounding and you could do without it.. or add some fx or change it somehow so it sounds more full and filling...

Also, as others mentioned, you could use some reverb to fill in some of the spaces in the mix....

other than that, i don't think i have anything else to say.. hope that was helpful

(again) thanks for the comments people.

I've not really had much time recently to do anything, cos I'm a bit busy with work and also trying to get that damn new machine to work. Looks like the memory's dead - meaning no music making til I can get a replacement Bah.

Yesp, I agree that the hihats and clap are a little annoying. I'll do something with them soonish.

As I said above, the kick and bassline are a little harder to sort out as they both come off the same stereo output as most of the percussion section. I think I've already just about compressed the hell out of the whole rhythm section as it is and it's starting to sound *really* bad for it.

I shall tryt to find a way of separating out the kick and bassline and beefing them up a little.
See, the thing is, I actually purposely made them not too hard, as I wanted a track that wasn't too kickin' and was slightly more relaxed than some of the total bangers out there.

I agree with the 'remove the strings' comment. I think my mixes are getting a bit muddy. I always seem to put too much in at the same time and I don't realise until someone actually tells me (sound fine to me, up to that point).

Anyone fancy having a colaboration on this one? I really need other people to give me a hand I think.

Breame
