I can only wonder what tracks you even have heard from that era if you think so. I grew up with Kraftwerk, Jarre, Vangelis, and later on The KLF, Underworld, Orbital, Leftfield,.. and of course loads of the old trance on Sven Väth's Eye-Q label and i must say among those there aren't many trancers i DON'T enjoy listening unlike most of the *yawn* stuff today.

Agreed! Oh and congrats for finding the Underworld doublepack and for a decent price too. for that!

Something (mostly classics of course) for the people who have missed out the old times and think tracks back then sucked:

Orbital - Halcyon (Original) *1992* / Halcyon +On +On (this is the album rework) *1993*
Zyon - No Fate *1992*
The Age of Love - The Age Of Love (Jam & Spoon Mixes) *1992*
Cygnus X - Positron *1993*
Cygnus X - Deliberation *1993*
Cygnus X - Superstring *1993*
LSG - Fragile (Original) / (12" Mix) *1993*
LSG - Hearts *1994*
LSG - Blueprint pt. 1 *1994*
Humate - Love Stimulation / PvD Love Mix *1993*
Li Kwan - Point Zero *1994*
Taucher - Happiness *1992* / Remixes *1993*
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar *1993* / real original unreleased version *1992*
Hardfloor - Acperience One *1992*
Union Jack - Two Full Moons And A Trout (Casper Pound Remix) *1994*
Illuminatus - Hope (Oliver Lieb Remix) *1994*

..and lots more..

Sven Vath's version was way better IMO.

ooh ooh .. i love this topic .. even though i see someone create this thread a million times, i still enjoy reading about this, seeing some people's old fav classics..

i still listen to old classics, because i try to "educate" myself what i missed before 1999 .. man .. i just feel stupid that i wasn't into EDM when i was in high school .. hahaha .. i was into the awesome alternative rock, which also was at it's peak back then .. with smashing pumpkins, nirvana, green day, pearl jam .. etc .. etc .. etc ..

here are some old favs i still listen to :
salt tank - eugina
jam and spoon - stella
x-cabs - infectious
furry phreaks - soothe (chicane mix)
legend b - lost in love
ALL (and i emphasize on all) old Gouryella hits .. tenshi, walhalla, gouryella, etc ..

and more ..

That's great! I dunno if any other Vangelis production can top his Blade Runner soundtrack but if they're all that cheap, go for it and get some Vangelis! I would. I still wanna get Blade Runner OST 12" some day...

Hmm. what version you mean? Sven Väth has never remixed The Age Of Love.

I'm talking about the trance stuff from back then. Jam & Spoon and PVD were good, but most of it was really crude. KLF, Leftfield and Underworld aren't trance, and neither are Prodigy and Chemical Brothers, all of whom I listen to from that period.

Yes, i didn't say those were trance but gave some examples of artists and music i grew up with. The trance back then still is very good imo and KLF was partly trance as well as Underworld btw.
