I beg to differ m8. I owned a pair and it didn't even make it longer than the MDR-V700s. Basically the more money you spend the more crappy craftsmenship you're going to get.

The HDJs have proven to be worst then the sony's. If you don't believe me do a search on TA or google it. They fall apart completely. I pamper my equipment but for 160 bucks they're not even close to being worth it. You can get some technics for 40 US dollars at an electronic store that will last you longer.

But the one thing they def. had over any other brand is the sound. You cannot match that with anything else it's literally music to your ears. Now only if they can fix the shotty work they do!

I know they crack- mine all have- but not there..
Mine all crack (and every other pair ive seen) above that on forked bits above that....

Strange.

I use hdj1000s too- they have been fine so far (touch wood) although the right hand cup seems to be coming slightly loose on one side, and somethings rattling... hmmmmm.... they have been pampered and looked after extremely well too.

well. ive used a pair quite a bit, but i cant vouch for those as theyre still pretty new. but all DJs round here ive seen that tried these due to being fed up with their MDRs love em, and theyre as new still.

Well, I'm not 100% positive on where everyone's have cracked. I don't use mine all that much, they where 2 years old, only used in my house for spinning. Both sides had numerous vertical cracks (all underneath the wireties now).

Whoops, I hadn't checked mine in forever. Also, I've never seen anyone on here clearly describe where exactly they crack, so I wasn't quite sure exactly where to look. Mine are starting...thanks for posting. I'll be doing something about this while I still can.

I've been babying my Sonys so far, hopefully they will last me for a good year or two.

When I eventually have to replace them, I would probably end up buying a pair of the Pioneers, very, very nice phones.

Remember people, headphones are a very personal thing, so it's normal that something which is heaven for you is hell for another.

I'd like to give a thumbs up for my Sennheiser HD25. I've had them for more than a year, and they never fail me. I have only tried a different headphone, the technics RPDJ1200, and the senn's are far superior.

They cost me 170 euro, but they are well worth the price. The only thing i have replaced over a year was the pads, i payed 15 euro for velour pads - they are now much more confortable, i can wear them longer. Also I've been abusing the cable and already have a replacement one sitting next to me, but still there is no need for it.

Good lord! You can get them for $95 US on etronics.com last I checked. They might not be certified, but that's a lot cheaper than 200.
