LOL I thought i was the only one that uses a panasonic stereo! I need speakers too. Anyways about recording; use line in, protools free, etc. As for a sound card; if you can fork another $150 check out the M-Audio audiophile 24/96. Great card for recording dj mixes and it should work on a g3. Another thing, when you hook up your pc to your mixer you may need to hook it up on a different circuit b/c it may create a ground loop otherwise.

Well...my G3/233 beige tower & my G4/350 blue & White both have one in & one out. The in on both has a mic symbol. It is line in stereo.
Says so in both manuels.

That may be true on your set up, but to say that line In and Mic In are the same thing.. heh.

Actually, on both macs, you can plug in a mic or line level, and choose either in the control bar. So the jack in the back is both.
