actually
actually there is a silent hill movie in the works. it's going to be good i think cause the director is the same director as that awesome Brotherhood of the Wolf movie. don't know why people didn't really see that movie as being good. i think it is one of the bset. also i like luc besson directing but christopher gans is going to be the one to do the movie.
dmc is also going to be a movie. very similar to blade. i heard guillermo del toro the director of blade 2 which is still on of my fav movies of all time is going to do dmc.
metal gear movie is probably my number one movie i hope they make soon. but there is so few directors that i want to let them get a hold of. for one my first choice is Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer, if not then it would be Ridley Scott. but i trust Bay and Bruckheimer to do metal gear. they are metal gear and their cineamtic style is Metal Gear.
i still think mr. Van Helsing himself Hugh Jackman should be snake.
max payne movie will be a good one as well. people want George Clooney do to it. maybe guy pearce but he looks like a monkey to me. i don't know who would make a goodmaxpayne.

It's incredibly difficult to squeeze in a whole game into a 2.5 hour movie without butchering it into something obscene. Just look at Tomb Raider.
I've come to appreciate good games as an unbeatable storytelling medium. Especially RPG's. Movies are nice because you can see and hear the characters, environments, and situations they face. It's usually much more powerful and effective to see a scene acted out in full detail in front of your own eyes than to imagine it from words in a book. However, movies are bound into that < 3 hour limit. Anything more requires multiple chapters taking years to make and usually many millions of dollars. Even then, anything longer than a trilogy is usually unheard of and you can still only tell so much.
Books don't have this problem. A book is free from time restraints and budgets, and can delve into lots of deep dialogue, character development, plot, etc. Their stories can often span many years and situations. But obviously they lack the visualization of the movie.
But great games, like Halo or a good RPG, aren't troubled by this. Not only do they have the visualization and sound, they are free to expand without having to worry about keeping things within the 3 hour mark. Plus, the fact that you're actually controlling the characters through their struggles really kicks the immersion and fun up a notch. I finally got around to buying Xenogears on tuesday, and already I've put like 13 hours of gametime into it, and I'm not even that far. By now it would probably have taken 2-4 full length movies to tell the story as effectively and throughly as the game has. So I've got all the long, complex stories and dialogues of a book, the sights and sounds of a good movie, plus the added bonus of being the one controlling the characters. As much as I love a good book or movie, I love a good RPG 10x more .
