Prism, pretty much all of my opening sets at Viva consist of Chable/Infusion/JXL style prog. I'd love to play that stuff later on in the night but it just doesn't go over that well =/

I'll have to check out the Planisphere tune that you mention, because to be honest I haven't been all that impressed with that alias in the past.

Great post!

I am invloved with FNK.ca which is part of Union. GTR is just the beginning and if the support is proven then there are many great things to come.

The scene is chaging, the old guard has passed the torch to the new kids on the block and it is time to show the people what we can do.

I have fellow DJ's who are putting on clubnights and they are born from the crowd that says "the music rocked but the vibed sucked" so they are on the forefront of trying to provide the elements that lacked in the past.

Union can't change the scene by themsleves but in co-ordination and co-operation with other venues and promotion companies and with support from the public things can and will happen.

I hope to see many of you this weekend at GTR.

Come up and say "Hello" to the blue haired smurf here and I'll buy you a drink.

Until then.

Winston

GREAT post! Was fine reading, and I heartily agree with everything you said

I'm not really a fan of Montana & Res as DJs...they do know their quality trance from their cheese, but last time I heard them spin (at Twisted), they played a set that was just trance anthem after trance anthem. I suppose that's what suited the crowd but I would have liked to see some more variety in their set, hearing them build it up instead of just nailing all the Armin-style anthems so early in the night. But the crowd was diggin it so I can't complain =P Montana & Res certainly show promise and they mix well

As for this upcoming show, I'm very stoked for it! The lineup is _quality_, and their interest in the music is clearly at the forefront. These guys know exactly what they're doing and what they're trying to achieve, and I'm proud to say that I'll be there supporting this every step of the way. This is truly the kind of event I've been waiting for, and the kind of event that this city needs more of. I think that the end of the Plaza is also the end of an era, and that we can expect great things in the future with groups like Union at the helm

See you there.
-Adam

Fantastic Post!

Fantastic post by DJ Nemesis....I really wish it wasn't such a novel idea to take ownership and responsibility of something you love. But in today's world..it really seems like it is...man, I hate apathy.

I love the fact that you are looking for prog yet you have Eddie Halliwell in your signature....diversity rules.

Why not? I love Eddie Halliwell in terms of his mixing abilities and track selection, he is an extremely technically advanced DJ and I am yet to see someone to be able to mix like that guy, the thing is there aren't many recorded live sets from this guy so I can't listen to his stuff on a regular basis. I am really into progressive trance/house at the same time and there's enough of it to listen to every day, what da fuck you got against diversity?

Eaaasssy there.....I was commending you, not ridiculing you. I myself enjoy prog and harder trance as well. It's nice to see people who are open-minded and have diverse tastes in electronic music.

I would say that Preach is comparable to Eddie Halliwell

^ I almost fell off my chair when I saw that. almost as good as zimmers grade 10 photo on the rythem nation flyer last summer.

I really enjoyed the show on saturday, room two was hard to find (it took me half a hour to find the place) so I think a few people missed out on a lot that went on in there but it was a solid night !
Tom said it best, good write up and thanks to Union and FNK for the booking and the great night.

wicked photo of me and my girl
