Great post!
I am invloved with FNK.ca which is part of Union. GTR is just the beginning and if the support is proven then there are many great things to come.
The scene is chaging, the old guard has passed the torch to the new kids on the block and it is time to show the people what we can do.
I have fellow DJ's who are putting on clubnights and they are born from the crowd that says "the music rocked but the vibed sucked" so they are on the forefront of trying to provide the elements that lacked in the past.
Union can't change the scene by themsleves but in co-ordination and co-operation with other venues and promotion companies and with support from the public things can and will happen.
I hope to see many of you this weekend at GTR.
Come up and say "Hello" to the blue haired smurf here and I'll buy you a drink.
Until then.
Winston

Fantastic Post!
Fantastic post by DJ Nemesis....I really wish it wasn't such a novel idea to take ownership and responsibility of something you love. But in today's world..it really seems like it is...man, I hate apathy.

Trance is definately evolving...I wish there would be more progressive trance/house being played @ the clubs, like really deep and progressive something by the people like: Özgür Can, Infusion, Luke Chable, James Holden, Markus Schulz. Name a local DJ that plays that stuff huh... |
I love the fact that you are looking for prog yet you have Eddie Halliwell in your signature....diversity rules.

Why not? I love Eddie Halliwell in terms of his mixing abilities and track selection, he is an extremely technically advanced DJ and I am yet to see someone to be able to mix like that guy, the thing is there aren't many recorded live sets from this guy so I can't listen to his stuff on a regular basis. I am really into progressive trance/house at the same time and there's enough of it to listen to every day, what da fuck you got against diversity?

Eaaasssy there.....I was commending you, not ridiculing you. I myself enjoy prog and harder trance as well. It's nice to see people who are open-minded and have diverse tastes in electronic music.
