Wanna see a copy of my T4 and T5 while your at it??

I'll PM you the Ontario marginal rate chart - add 15% (after tax money) to the amount on the chart to get effective tax rate.

And of course that doesn't even touch hidden taxes (liquor, tobacco, etc).

Admitedly I'm not as informed about this issue (or "scandal" as sensationalized liberals like to refer to it as ) - however what I will tell you that the whole grocery food business (meat, produce import/export) is SERIOUSLY influenced by organized crime, corruption and other shady dealings (which I know from being a butcher's apprentice for a number of years).

This if course is unacceptable - but in any industry, especialy one that has vested interest by organized crime, you are going to have rules ignored, people "bought", regulations broken, etc - Gov't or private.

yah know I wouldnt be surprsied.. its odd however since the grocery food industry is one of the most unionized as well.

oh and by the way.. lol at "sensationaled liberals". You think if the spots were switched the conservatives would have any less of a field day with it? By the way, I dunno about you but Steven Harper scares me!

Lol. Stop and think about what you just said for a second....

Organized crime.

Union.

-----------------------

I helped do some engineering drawings for an independent grocery store chain a number of years back.

I met with the owner of the chain one day at his house to go over some drawings with one of the engineers. The owner and the engineering were talking about why he could offer quarts of strawberries for $1.00 each during December when A&P or Loblaws had them at $3.00 or so.

The owner proceeded to explain how whole containers at the food terminal tend to go "missing", how customs officers sometimes seem to "forget" to count whole shipments, etc.

Seeing that Loblaws, GAP Co. and others are public - I'm sure they have to be much more careful since their books are public. The owner of this chain had number of stores (double digits) but was private - so probably had more liberty to take advantage of these special offers.

Me too! I thought we were keeping this provincial so I didn't bother to go federal.

Harper is a nutcase. Him and his new party will not get my vote.

Federal Liberals are pretty damn blue in my opinion (even more so with Martin at the healm). Any comparison between Daulton and Martin is crazy. Daulton is as red as they get. Martin is a liberal because his father was and because he wants to get elected (not because he is a -true- liberal).

Martin will get my vote federally until the conservatives stop being such friggin radicals.

I am against any new tax whatsoever!! Although if I have to pay something I would sooner pay a food tax than have photo radar back on the road. (Which they are also considering)

What happened to the Liberals promises to "run a tight ship ... while not raising taxes" and to "give you better value for your money while keeping taxes down."

Great in principle, but this will fail in execution.

However, when you think about it, most full meals that are healthy are above $4. It is far, far more expensive to buy healthy food.

completley agreed there! Liberals will get my vote as well.. I dunno, i'll like Dalton once (if he can) backup any of his claims. He's no better then Shady earny eves.. but I digress.

I can understand your feelings about Unions .. but please don't generalize.. not all of them are tied together with org. crime. I just imagine people correlating opseu or cupe, or the teachers union with org russian mafia. Now that would be hilarious! HOWEVER.. now that i've lived and worked in the world of finance just a tiny little bit I must admit the gov needs a shakeup. Lower level public servants don't do jack shit all.. we can have a smaller more effecient government without losing any services.. If we abide by effeciency standards and have achievement rewards. But alas stuff like that is just against everything that a bureacracy stands for.

I guess my vegie soup or salad I get a few times a week @ $2.50 isn't healthy - same with the banana I buy every morning and same with the hard boiled egg I get a few times per week.

....

The unions involved with organized crime are not the above two (I think you know who I'm talking about).

opseu, cupe and teachers union are public sector as far as I'm concerned.
