i never said i didn't like alphazone though! but IMO they are a bit cheesy, which can be good at times! and cj bolland's the prophet ain't a tab bit cheesy IMO, but the way non cheesy hard trance sounds/should sound like.
once again, i'm not bashing anything here.

As hard trance goes (and yes, I would pigeonhole Alphazone into that genre) it is quite melodic which is what I like about it.

WTF, Alphazone... hard trance? There's nothing in the least bit hard about them. Alphazone are uplifting trance. Not to say they're bad mind you, although the only song I really like by them is Rockin'.

The way I'd answer that is to say that there are so many tracks trying to break new ground that they are often crossing the boundaries of different genres. You might get someone who thinks they have a clear cut answer to your question, but at the end of the day a certain amount is down to personal opinion.

That is a very bold and confident response to my post, dude. As I said a certain amount boils down to personal preference but even if the Alphazone style does tend to lean more towards melodic trance than hard trance (and I'm not convinced it does). I still don't believe you can say that there is nothing hard in Alphazone's style at all.

used to like them, but now the club i used to dj at thrashes hard trance to death (guaranteed to hear mat silver & tony burt - ultimate wave every single bloody night!) so i'm quite sick of that hard trance sound now

Alphazone is amazing. High energy, fast tempo, uplifting trance. Their best track: Rockin'.

Alphazone can be best described as energetic techno-hardtrance with the slightest bit of uplifting. I voted the second option
