I took time to dable in the past of trance and listened to aria-dido armins mix and Good Lord its fricking amazing

looking from past to now the only artists who have kept up or improved production qaulity are the almighty Solar Stone, Fire & Ice, and maybe Solid Globe...

Armin's prog-taste is very good, but trance... cheese
There still are some good trance tunes, but the majority is just boring.

And yes his old productions are sooo much better than his new ones.

Sorry, have to disagree. His recent 5 hour set her in SF was incredible and it was unique for him in at a US gig as he had no opener...he was on the decks when the room opened. He started with melodic prog (ie. His frist track - Deepsky - Talk Like a Stanger (Markus Shulz....remix) and worked it up to beautiful trance. Listen to ASOT 143, which is a couple hours of the set he played here that night (April 2).

did armin manage to play 5 hours of fluffy trance, with some fluffy prog? Because thats what he did in nyc...And people fled out @ about 4:30. Like 2-3 hours into his set. Armin is good for about 2 hours, then gets boring.

look @ the thread in nyta, and tell me who is the minority...
Did armin not play fluffy trance for 4 hours? His hardest banger mabe, tiesto - love comes again? i dont really hate any 1 track he played. He just plays the same style the whole time. It didnt amount to anything. He also played each track to long, felt about 7 mins a track, which imo was way to long to continue any energy. And when he mixed @ roxy, all he did was throw the kick down during the "chorus" for like a minute, then took the kick out. And he did that every mix. Like i said thats good for about 2 hours, after that it gets boring because he losese all the energy from the previous track.

Agreed. He was so fluffy and McProggish when I saw him in New York last week that I had to leave.

Armin's downfall started in 2002 with all of those crappy remixes that sound the same.
